What is it then? It's an insult to the Constitution!

Now please follow Jesus and render unto Caesar...
. Not many people object to civil unions. It is the attempt to sanctify homosexuality with the word "marriage" people object to.

Not true. Almost every gay person I know my age (45) or older has at least one biological child. I have many friends with gay fathers in particular. They had to live the lie, and have had to do so for most of history.
. Making a good case that homosexuality is a choice. If it wasn't the gene would be at a severe disadvantage and weeded out in few generations . As a Hetero, I could never finish with a man yuck!
Untrue. It is am sdvantage in times of scarcity. There are lots of genes that hang around because they are useful in adversity.

Christianity is the mantle people wear to cover their hypocrisy.

Look at those who claim to be Christians in this country: they are the very worst of the worst. Their selfishness, their intolerance, their contempt for the poor and those who are different.

Christ said "By how ye treat the least among ye, thus shall ye be judged". In his case it was the adultress, the tax collector, and so on. Now it is the poor, the immigrant, the homosexual.

All you so-called Christians will have to answer for your intolerance and your hatred.

. It is all over the old testament and no sin in the old testament is not a sin in the new testament. The law was set in the old testament. Many sins in the law are not ticked off by Jesus, his message was that there was now a new way to be cleansed and forgiven. It's all about understanding how short we all fall and clinging to the lord. The audience Jesus taught was well aware and highly educated in Gods law.

Ok make the case that it is a sin based in the new testament. I bet your only hope is Paul, a former tax collector.
. Matthew was the tax collector, Paul was a murderer. The operable word you used is "former". Everybody falls short. People who believe and make a u turn from sin are what Jesus died for.

When a direct challenge is met by a quibble over a tangential part of the challenge rather than an actual response, we all know what that means.

Really so you do not eat pork or shellfish. In the OT god's people went into a pit of fire because they would not defy this law.

I know you have already written out God's name and must be going to hell for that.

Do you still believe that the death penalty is God's will if you disobey your parents?

If you found out your wife was not a virgin at marriage, would you do your duty and stone her?

When you said "all" what did you think that meant?

No i've had sins equal to homosexuality and I ask to be forgiven and do my best to change.

Do the words sodom and gommorah mean anything to you. Where did the word sodomy come from? Doesn't God and his dumb followers know of the beauty and majesty of the penis rectum relationship? I'm sure you can convince the almighty of his ignorance and educate him about where true human happiness and fulfillment cum from.

Oh, yeah, that's a real winner of a Biblical story, where good old Lot instead tries to hand over his two virgin daughters to be raped by the crowd instead.

Hey you can move to sodom and gomorrah and spray some frabreeze around, but don't ask the rest of us to call it great and treat it like traditional marriage. We don't want to and you can't make us.

LOVE this response! And again, there are many many "sins" that are not illegal. Even if you deeply believe gay marriage is a sin, what elevates it to the level of needing to be outlawed instead of merely looked down upon (in your eyes - obviously not everyone thinks 2 loving people marrying one another is something to frown upon) the way other legal sins (kids outside of marriage, divorce, adultery, not keeping the Sabbath "holy", etc, etc, etc).

So do you believe that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is morally correct and you ate willing to defend it in it's entirety? If not, you have no point.

I'll give you time to get out your bible before you answer.

You can think of it however you like. No one is saying you have to call it great. What those of us who are in support of gay marriage are saying is that it is morally abhorrent and constitutionally illegal to deny rights and privileges to people because of their sexual orientation.
