What old TV shows are worth watching?

I thought the first episode of Orphan Black was a phenomenal set up to a series and the first season was absolutely worth watching - particularly Tatiana Maslany juggling multiple characters. My interest tapered after season two, but I keep meaning to revisit.

I “watch” a lot shows as background. These are funny and don’t require undivided attention to enjoy them.

If that's how you've "watched" the above shows, I suggest you go back and pay attention. Every time I watch Arrested Development I catch things I didn't before. I haven't rewatched the other two series but they're both on my list. Another one you may like is Veep but you have to pay attention! Or not and it'll still be great, but it's SO much better if you're tuned in. They are all so clever and quick-witted.

I'm watching Mad Men for the first time and think it's incredible.

I also highly recommend Peaky Blinders, Animal Kingdom, and Ozark.

And what’s the Australian series about the lady OBGYN? That show was awesome.

Lastly, if you haven’t watched Benidorm, you are missing out.

Never heard if it, but it should have been called Down Under.

Lol missed opportunity!

Offspring is a great show.

Seconding Veronica Mars

Also recommend:
Being Erica

Great Canadian show about getting a chance to re do aspects of your life.

Stephen Bochco shows are always a favorite - whether it's Hill St. Blues, LA Law or NYPD Blue.

Someone mentioned Homicide: Life on the Streets is good. Looks to be available streaming which is was not in the past IIRC.

Cheers is always good too for some laughs. An occasional Seinfeld episode is good for that as well - funny, but when Seinfeld first aired my parents never watched, but now, they will and stream episodes on a regular basis.

NP. I love west Wing so much. I have watched it so many times and almost every episode can make me cry — and has. It is aspirational politics and so earnest.
