Who cares what 3rd parties think about the conduct of second parties? We can make up our own minds as to whether Israel is engaged in legitimate self-defense or not. As Stalin is supposed to have said, "How many Divisions does the Pope have?" Critics of Israel have no special claim to any moral high ground; the war will be won when the Palestinian capacity for aggression has been neutralized, plain and simple.

Wow, how surprising that a bunch of people who never through about Israel prior to october 2023 and who only read headlines have a less favorable opinion of Israel now.

Most people don’t care or know about Israel the same way they only care about Ukraine or any other foreign wars on a very surface level. Except for the two rabid posters on dcum who start every other thread about Israeli war crimes and Palestinian suffering (while omitting Palestinian terrorism and dismissing antisemitism in the US)

But it’s like secretly voting for Trump, but knowing not to announce it publicly in mixed company, as to do so will get you judged for being a racist, sexist, homophobic, insurrectionist.

Criticizing Israel and Netanyahu gets you labeled a antisemite.

So for now people keep their opinions to themselves. But a lot of people really don’t get it and that’s bad for Israel.

Public perception studies mean zilch. As stated above, paraphrased, how many Divisions does public perception have? Israel is prevailing, because it is highly motivated to prevent its extinction, and because the Palestinian capacity to inflict terror and horror is present but always ineffective in the end; the resultant casualties the Palestinians suffer in retaliation always far exceed what they inflicted on Israel to begin with, but they are so numerous they don't seem to mind absorbing wildly disproportionate losses as long as they can injure, kill, kidnap, or rape even a single Israeli. Difficult to understand, but there it is, shown over and over again since 1948.

Public opinion around Palestinians isn't particularly favorable, either, which also matters not a whit. What matters is what the two sides actually do to end the conflict - release the hostages and see Hamas surrender, or have Israel continue the war until Hamas is totally eradicated?
