optional

What exactly is the purpose of the Wise test? There is already a final right?

Same as AP or Honors courses. Take an IB class and pass, it covers industry credential requirement.

What IB classes include the Econ and personal finance class in it? Know AP economics covers in AP world. What classes works in IB world?

The wise test is a state graduation requirement. Similar to an SOL.

Thanks. Why is it listed as optional then? It causes confusion.

Alright everyone former famous facilitator here again outlining your wise exam adventure

Graduation requirement
Pass a cte credentialing exam
Tests include wise, workplace readiness (not work keys the last time I wrote this post I said that and one of you still said does work keys count…NO!), customer service exam, credential exams given for most fcps academy programs.

So if you take an honors or ap/ib class and pass the class that substitutes for credential exam (is why all epf classes face to face are honors)

No honors ever, need take credential exam. Wise is the easiest with a passing score of 66%. Workplace passing is 70%, customer service probably 70% but those other tests tend to be more difficult and retakes have more rules.

So you need to say my kid took self directed epf answer-yes

My kid will take no honors or ap classes in high school-yes your kid needs to take wise exam

My kid took and pass an ap or honors class or will do so- no your kid does not need to take wise exam

I don’t folks asking but why should they take it anyway, just follow the yes or no route

If you want further deeper explanations I will give them to you. But stop making people confused and read above…is yes follow path is no follow other pass

Former famous long time facilitator epf ap Econ teacher and epf curriculum writer out

Ps: yes I leave snarky smart butt comments about the course around here but even after having left the classroom, I will always provide you folks with the best and proper information, I never believed in wasting you or your kids time

so ANY Honors or AP class of any sort, at any time during your high school years negates the need to take the Wise test? Thank you.

So long as the student passes the class but yes.

Anonymous wrote:I saw this class on the DE course offerings: Economics & Personal Finance DE (6120DE) FIN 150 from Longwood University.

Saw this after DC finished Econ and Personal Finance;

If this DE class counts as an equivalent? Why aren't more kids doing it for the +1 DE bump vs a pass/fail?

Know anyone that has taken it? Curious difficulty level

Anyone know more? A friend got an email advertising it. Is it a higher cost? I assume graded- not pass/fail?

Only for those getting the standard diploma. Kids getting the advanced diploma don’t need it.
