She didn't live there at all as a child though and definitely was misleading everyone about being bicultural. My dh is American and I am not from the US: He has lived in my home country, is 100% fluent, and he would NEVER claim to be from my culture. There is a big difference between appreciation and appropriation. She's basically pretending to be someone like me who is truly from another country. |
They haven't sold it yet. It's a beautiful home, but they are never going to sell it for the price they listed it for . . . $10m price cut and all. |
It's off market now. |
I watched the first episode of their show and it was a mess. I hope their kids grow up ok. The parents are kooky. |
I didn't think it was a mess at all. They seemed like any large family to me: more chaotic than a small one, but clearly loved and taken care of. And sure, parents are kooky. Doubt many Hollywood types are "normal" by regular standards. |
You can't be serious? |
Normal people do not pretend to be from Spain, speak with a Spanish accent, and ask how to say words in English -- regardless of who in the family has moved to Spain. |
If she has developed an accent organically, fine. (Look at Dorit from RHOBH. My own DH is very Southern and I have gained that inflection on some words and my New York accent has softened considerably since being with him.)
But she hasn't. It's curated and you can tell. There is no excuse for "how you say cucumber" when you are Hillary Hayward-Thomas and you are born and RAISED (vacations only in Spain) in Mass and you went to one of the best high schools in Boston. There is no excuse for directly implying on a podcast that you "came here" to go to NYU. grifter grifter grifter I will admit I watched the show wondering if they would mention or cite DCUM! lol Having said all of that - I do empathize for the situation they are in. I can't imagine your mind after you accidently kill someone. |
I’m totally serious. The show was pretty tame. If you’ve seen any large family reality show it was not more of a mess. It was less of a mess if anything bc they have help and money. Only too much part is all the pets in an apartment. |
There is enough stupidity in real world, nobody needs to watch it on tv to fund lifestyle oof Hilaria and her half dozen kids. |
*or make believe world of duchess of nowhere |
The oldest daughter wears full face of makeup and claims she was born an "adult." Why does she think that? Is it b/c she has to care for her 6 other siblings? The youngest daughter wanders around and nobody seems to keep track of her. The mother calls the middle daughter a monster. One of the boys has a panic attack getting in car for trip. And they think adding a bunch of dogs and cats to the mix in a small apartment makes sense? It was a mess. |
In Hilary's case I don't think it was a mental issue. I think it was 100% a calculated choice, and she has had to maintain it because she catfished Alec. |
Oof...No. Not going to judge a parent over a meltdown, a little kid walking around (?!). As for the oldest saying stuff like that, it is very common. They have two nannies so let's not pretend Carmen is their childcare go-to but yes she's probably more mature. And monster was clearly meant as a cute thing like baby monster, cookie monster. None of this is seriously messy. |
Looked like a mess to me. I really do hope all the kids turn out ok. |
