Everyone I know came here on legal work visa and it took them a decade to become citizens. Ones who came through family visa, applied and waited for decade plus. Everyone had to do so much paperwork that i find it mind boggling to me how others can come illegally and become legal.

Well, the laborers here from Mexico and other Central American countries aren’t getting any of those benefits right now. So if you pay American citizens an American wage and benefits to do those jobs, the cost of food skyrockets. And the 55 year olds surviving off disability benefits in rural KY still can’t afford anything.

If illegal immigrants in Iowa get deported and meat processing plants don't have workers, they will have no choice but to increase pay to find US workers. That's if illegal immigrants who didn't commit crimes get deported though, and it probably won't happen.

Yeah, just like in Britain where nobody wanted to do those jobs despite their right wingers claiming they would if only the immigrants would go away. If you want to see real inflation then get Americans to do those jobs.

OP good question. Farm workers and construction workers will not be deported. Our economy depends on them.
