It’s close because Trump can be divisive and the media hates him and has been trashing him for the last 8 years. He is strong on all the issues that matter to most Americans- the economy, inflation, national security, the border, crime, and energy independence/cost. Other than abortion (which admittedly gets her some votes), what is her position or policy on these issues? I’ve listened to her speak, many times, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out what she is saying, other than she is not Trump.

Then maybe you should take your finger out of your ears and read a newspaper. Her immigration and economic policies are not going to be so draconian they destabilize our market. Elon said all American will need to “belt-tighten” because it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. It’s all laid out.

Huh? Trump will shut down illegal immigration. Kamala won’t. This is pretty simple. Let’s see what the voters prefer.

Trump doesn’t want to solve the problem or he would have supported the border bill.

He wants an issue to distract people from all of his failures. Just like his “wall” is a big photo op but also a failure at stopping people. Meanwhile he actively drove people from Venezuela and Cuba to the US. Do you even know how many hundreds of thousands of Cubans came to the US under Trump?

This is patently untrue. She has repeatedly said she will push the Bipartisan Border Bill which will beef up staff and resources for border security, will make it faster and easier to deport and clear the 2-year-long backlog for deportation hearings, and so on. It will essentially codify "Remain in Mexico" into law rather than being a weak EO, and it will do many ADDITIONAL things not addressed by the GOP bill, such as improving detection of fentanyl at ports of entry and going after the networks and supply chains smuggling fentanyl and fentanyl precursors internationally. That bill was endorsed by the Border Patrol Union. Trump KILLED that border because rather than solving problems, Trump wanted to keep the chaos and drama.

Get out of the right wing bubble. You are being misled.

Huh? Biden and Harris have been securing the border since day 1.

I saw a woman's post today that said she was voting for Trump. She said "I'm all for voting for a woman, but the last one was corrupt and this one is dumb as rocks."

So her criteria is she wants someone who isn't corrupt and who is intelligent. And her choice is Trump??

It's just mind-boggling. It's not Harris who is dumb as rocks.

Trump's base is approximately 46% of eligible voters and this is a stable number. Add to his base the misogyny of white males who will never vote for a woman and you have a close campaign.

It's not close.

Trump is already winning and is cruising to a landslide in the EC.

Wake up.

Many people vote on issues and not on personalities. That explains it.

Another woman voter and I agree with this.

Would love to see a woman president, and soon, but Kamala ain't it.

I don’t get your mindset. We cannot afford trillions more in reckless spending and debt. We cannot afford to continue this crushing inflation and unaffordable housing. We can’t afford to have millions more illegal immigrants enter the country. Four years more of the Biden-Harris administration scares me and tens of millions of other Americans.

None of the above scares me as much as even one day of Trump's as president.

No matter your leanings, this is an excellent article with some great observations.

“Here's exactly what it says: Billionaire businessmen know a loser when they see one. This weekend, Harris was the subject of a lengthy New York Times profile, informed by 100 friends and colleagues who also seemed incapable of offering a full-throated endorsement. In particular, they noted that 'she was not a gifted student' in law school, and that her 2019 presidential run 'revealed a person for whom… politics did not come naturally. She struggled to define herself ideologically.'”

————

“As she still does, a struggle that's excruciating to watch. But of course, this NYT piece, 'The World According to Kamala Harris', argued that as a woman of color, everything has been harder for Kamala Harris.

Excuse me? Let's get real: Identity politics might be the only reason this unimpressive, unintellectual Queen of Word Salad has risen far above her capabilities to potentially become president of the United States.”

————

“During a 2020 presidential debate, Joe Biden got backed into promising a female running mate, and Harris — who had all but called Biden a racist during her own failed campaign — was right there, willing to forgive and forget, if not acknowledge that she never believed what she'd said in the first place.

Jill Biden has reportedly never forgiven her. Does anyone really think that she and Joe, still smarting over his forced ouster, want Harris to win?

The Bidens, the billionaire class and rational voters everywhere all know that Trump isn't going to unleash the military on U.S. citizens, or 'be a dictator on day one', or prosecute his political enemies.

Hell — Trump even said he'd consider pardoning Hunter Biden if elected!”

Yet we had 4 years of Trump as president. Strong economy. Very low inflation. No wars.

Contrast that to Harris's 3-1/2 years with Biden.

Trump throws Joe a bone for Hunter, hinting he will allow the Biden clan to load up the fam and make for DE with his blessing. Say what you will, but Trump thinks ahead strategically.

Both you and the quoted woman are envious of women with superior work histories and academic credentials.
