What?? I am the PP whose son is 5'8" and he is a size 10, as is his best friend who is 5'11".

I think she means he has super tiny feet at age 12.5 years, not that he has size 12.5 feet!

Understood. My point was just that two nearly adult boys who are fairly different in (close to) final height have the same shoe size (his friend is somewhat above 5'11" but not quite 6').

Good to know! I would say that size 10 is rather small for being close to 6 feet tall but perhaps smaller feet run in the family.

NP here. You never know- my 6'1" husband has size 9.5 or 10 feet. My 14 year old is a size 10/10.5 and is expected to be 6'2". I don't think his feet will grow much more considering he's close to his final height and his father has small feet.

That’s just the way it is.

Disagree. All that matters is money. Short men that make a lot of money will be just fine. So raise your son to be a high achiever and smart and they will have lots of dating options.

Disagree. Easy going disposition, beautiful smile, hardworking, kind, animal lover, all around decent person. Height doesn’t matter.

It is not irrational.

Being short is a problem for a boy. Especially today.

On Instagram, everyone makes fun of boys who are short.

You trust Instagram for how people act?

My son is 13 and a half years old and still wears a size 6 shoe. I can’t tell if that means he has years ahead of him to grow or if he will just be really short. He still has baby teeth and hasn’t started his growth spurt but he is the only kid in his grade that doesn’t wear adult men’s shoes.

I am male, 71", and mens shoe size 7.5 narrow. From about age 16 until age 40, I consistently weighed 135 lbs and could eat food without any weight gain. Started gaining weight at age 40. I think all of this is hereditary.

Wow. I suppose small feet run in your family. I thought most males hit at least size 9 but I guess it varies. When did you hit your growth spurt?

My husband is 5'5" and a shoe size 7-7.5, he has trouble finding shoes.

Nothing.
Your son will probably be short. Nothing wrong with that.

My son is 13.5 and just started wearing size 7 shoes. I thought that was small but he’s not done growing yet. I think many boys feet grow until about 15 or so.

You would think that makes sense. Taller means more to hold up therefore the need for long feet. It’s weird all the girls in my extended family have feet between size 5 to size 7, no matter how short or tall. And the heights vary widely.

That’s it right there.
