A reminder that Tufts is in Boston and feeds in New York durle to proximity. While Emory Vandy feed into Atlanta, Charlotte, Austin and Houston at best. WashU feeds into Chicago.
Tufts- $74k
Emory-$82k
Vanderbilt- $84k
WashU- $91k
Also Tufts, Vandy, and WashU, have engineering while Emory does not.

BC- $96K
NU- $89K

Selectivity is similar, all the major metrics are similar, outcome is similar compared to the Boston schools.
(except Tufts is relatively weaker on outcome)

Prestige factor kicks in probably for Vanderbilt, but not much for WashU, and almost none for Emory.

More Tufts grads go into education, nonprofit work, and public service- hence the lower salaries. This does not speak to the quality of the education or the prestige of the school but the interests of the students….not everyone wants to go to Wall Street or McKinsey.

Tufts are engineering Emory doesn't. So it should balance out. Add in the fact Tufts is in Boston a high compensation city. Tufts should be ahead of Emory and atleast tied with Vandy. But it isnt

+1

This--a while back I saw the graduate degrees for various colleges...Tufts had a relatively high percentage going to get PhDs or Masters in education, international relations, public policy. A high number of MDs too but low % going to get their MBAs compared to Ivys, Duke, Vandy. That doesn't speak to the quality of the education but the self selection of student body.

Tufts has a more liberal arts focus than BC and NU. NGO's, public sector employment is large there. Tufts' salaries are commensurate with WashU, Emory and its other peers.

Even if the student profile is the same, Tufts has more in common with Emory and WashU than BU, NEU just size wise alone.

Good place to go if you look good in brown & blue.

I went to Wash. U., and the Tufts bashing here is absurd. Of course it’s a Wash. U. peer school.

Yall are purposefully ignoring the engineering part, saying Tufts has a self selecting student body that doesn't have money making aspirations means Emory should be seen in the same light. Emory does not have an engineering school while Tufts does.

Tufts engineering school is about 800 students out of a total undergraduate class of 6800...it's a very small percentage of undergraduates. Emory's top major is business.

What are the confidence intervals around the salary data?

If you took the opinions of most people outside of the Northeast/mid-Atlantic almost all would agree Emory, Vandy, and WashU are better than Tufts only Northeast people think otherwise. Similar to how West Coast individuals might think USC is the same level as those 3 but the rest of us won't agree.

Seriously way too much time on your hands. I think Emory is the outlier, not Tufts.

You're allowed to be wrong. Tufts is barely hanging on to Top50.

Personal anecdote... Everyone I've met from Tufts has been very pompous with a chip on there shoulder, only for it to be T50. Lol
