A recent one - I Saw The TV Glow. We just saw it in the theater a couple of weeks ago.
I think it's undeniably very very weird. Also it just wasn't for me - but as I understand it, some other people, especially people who are trans and nonbinary, find it profoundly moving. |
| Nocturnal Animals was weird (2016 dir Tom Ford, starring Aaron Johnson, Isla Fisher & Amy Adams) |
This. That is 2 hrs of my life I am never getting back. |
Definitely one of the first two that came to my mind. Whether you think it brilliant, pornographic or demented, it definitely qualifies as "weird". The other movie that came to mind, is my top pick for "so bad that it's good (funny)". "They Saved Hitler's Brain". Originally produced in the early 60's, before it's theatrical release, they added additional footage in the late 60's which included hairstyles and clothing that were completely out of sync with the styles in the rest of the movie. And there was no effort to really make the two segments of the movie sync, so it's like two separate movie fragments joined for a true Frankenstein of a movie. And the original movie was pretty bizarre and bad to begin with. |

Jacob's Ladder
Requiem for a Dream |
Ug. Yeah. I blocked it out or would have listed it myself. |
| The Devils Rain. Some idiot neighbor took us and her kids there when we were about 9. Horrifying. |
PP. and it starred John Travolta and William Shatner. I just recall faces melting. |
I hated this movie. Saw it in the theater; one of the few I've walked out of. |
| “Blood Tea and Red String” |
|
Surprised not to see Dancer in the Dark mentioned. Bizarre, manipulative, painful.
Funny Games also weird in a nightmarish way. |
