Probably when they pulled the phone records and realized she was texting instead of watching the kids like she said she would.
Pretty self absorbed, stupid move. That kid was obviously hyper and impulsive 24/7.

I thought this too. I didn’t read the book, and I assume the events will be developed further and possibly more blame of and remorse from Margaret in future episodes. But it’s crazy to entrust a 4 year old especially a wild one to a complete stranger.

I found ep 3 more upsetting because I could feel the mothers grief. Like taking all those pics was so crazy-town but so honest, I could 100% see it happening.

A mother will also always blame herself.

For the nanny who messed up, for the husband who wasn’t paying attention, for the grandparent who was too elderly to keep up.

Always the mother’s fault. Plus the sitters fault!

A child abduction in a seedy crowded open air market is another level of regret. That kid could be anywhere being used and abused.

And this is exactly why I would probably kill myself in this situation. I couldn't face that thought, every waking minute for the rest of my life.

But she has two other kids who need her. That would be even more traumatizing for them.

Her friends talking amongst themselves already suggested that is what they would have done, in episode 1. Before the reveal

Anyone watch the latest episode? Excruciating. The actor who plays her husband is incredible.

He is fantastic. Nicole Kidman is always great. I do not care about Hilary and her horrid mom or her dh and Mercy.

PP here. Agree. Hilary's mom is a piece of work. I don't know how she didn't tell her to just go back to India when they got out of the elevator. As for David and Mercy - ugh. What a toxic relationship. And her disgusting little apartment makes me feel sick everytie they show it.

Only watched two episodes. But this is every parent’s worst nightmare.

And grandparents watching grandkids. You really don’t want to F up.

Oh, agree. My kids are older now but my parents used to always ask to take them on vacation. No way. They aren’t used to being aware and on all the time anymore.

Who hasn't learned to shut down their mother by that age?

I actually like Hilary, especially when I get tired of watching Nicole playing Nicole.

Agree, I have less than zero interest in her DH. Maybe that plotline is to show us he’s fertile so the issue must be with Hilary, although that’s not much of a plot line for Hilary, “hey I’m infertile and Margaret is awful to me about not understanding losing a kid.”

Somebody first point it out to me in Big Little Lies and now I can’t unhear it. It only happened in the 1st episode (so far), but I did count it happening three times in that episode. Maybe as producer she puts a clause requiring that in every vehicle?

Who’s Nicole?

Nicole Kidman, who plays Margaret. In the first episode people at her gala tell each other how beautiful she is. Her husband tells her how great she looks.
