Do you consider Lisa to be a "Jewish name?"

Anonymous
Lisa rose to soaring popularity after Elvis and Priscilla named their daughter Lisa Marie.

Nearly all the Lisas I know/knew were not Jewish but skewed Italian heritage to include a cousin.

+1. end of thread for the parents if they care. the only Lisa's I have known in decades up on this planet, are, indeed, the offspring of devout Jews.

Most people are saying quite the opposite of you.

Back in my day all the "Lisa's" were Asian girls adopted by white families. It was really weird.

FWIW, I am Jewish and have a sister named Lisa (who is under 40, for those saying it's an old lady name), and most of the Lisas I have known have been Jewish. But as another poster pointed out, that's probably because I know a lot of Jews! Many posters have said they know non-Jewish Lisas.

If you like the name, go for it.

Huh. I think Sara is the more Jewish spelling.

Literally the opposite. Sarai added the h to her name when she converted to become the second Jew in the entire universe. Right after her husband Abram added an h to his name to be come Abraham, the first Jew.

But none of this matters. Everyone stop being sh!ts about names.
