Williams ED Bloodbath?

+1 there was a lot of misinformation on here

Curious where you got that statistic? I had heard more 11-12% from our college office?

My unhooked kid got into Williams a couple of years ago during ED, as did their unhooked friend. Their private high school has a history of sending at least a couple of kids to Williams every year. If DC had gone to our local public school, they wouldn't have gotten in - Williams doesn't take kids from there.

Stay classy, Williams.

How would that even make sense? Williams ED 2026 was 31% acceptance rate and was 27% acceptance rate in ED 2027. Most likely close to 25% acceptance rate this year as PP said

Both my unhooked kids got into their ED schools. But we picked ED wisely and didn’t go for highest reach but a lower reach that was a good fit for them. ED can absolutely help and more so at certain schools. Picking at least one rolling EA is also really important.

I'm not the PP, but the advice I heard from friends with older DCs when our first was in cycle - good to have at least one admit in hand if ED does not work out and your DC is devastated by the news.
