I am OP and SR has welcomed our family into the community. I am not part of the admissions team but my daughter did lead tours that day so I only heard her accounts. As for what SR has done for us isn’t about us but my daughter. She has been provided an environment where she is thriving academically and socially. She had an over night retreat where she got to bond with her classmates (important for the new 9th grade students finding their way). They have begun preparing her for college admissions, provided consistent and efficient communication, and most importantly supported and guided my daughter through the high school transition. Both visi and sr are great schools but agree legacy is great at visi. I would also look at niche rankings about the two or any other schools. |
Everything above is quite accurate based on our experience. SR family with friends at VISI. |
I see this repeated incessantly. Would love to hear your rationale. |
We are an African American family at Visi and have not observed this firsthand. Although there are two well known politician's kids attending the school, who we know come from MAGA families - our daughter has just never met or interacted with them or heard any stories about them and my DD is very popular and plugged in socially. I will say that many of the girls are very wealthy, although honestly, I would not call them snobby/racist/unwelcoming and we are fine tuned to suss this out. |
What does MAGA even mean these days? Is it just a synonym for conservative? You'll definitely encounter plenty of conservatives at both SR and VISI, especially among the dads. |
|
There are “MAGA” and “Left Radicals” at both schools like all schools in DC. If this is your reasoning for your DD picking school I am sorry for her.
I understand if you look at the social actions and religious aspects that are taught by the Sacred Heart and Salesian tradition. This is what molds our young women into what they will become which is far more important than the current political turmoil. No school is perfect. Look at what is important for YOUR daughter. |
You are responding to my post. When I say MAGA politicians, they are either in the administration or nominated to the judiciary by the occupant in the White House. |
So apparently does Maga does now extend to all conservatives. Yeah, there are a lot of those at both schools. Sorry to break the news. |
Yes, I’m sure conservative families go to both schools, but I wouldn’t say either has a reputation for pushing MAGA or conservative values à la The Heights on the boys’ side. If there’s a girls’ equivalent of that, it would be Holy Child or Oakcrest. |
