Trying to understand this comment. Was it a "blue collar" sport that resulted in the lovely culture at Damascus high a few years ago where a broomstick was involved? I'll gladly take the "white collar" environment then.

In light of the fact that there seems to be no evidence of an investigation going on, either by MCPS or police, Blair Crew is recruiting and fundraising. They are a great team: check out their website at https://blaircrew.org/ Rowing is a fantastic sport, and Blair Crew offers the opportunity for East and Down County students to access the sport!

I completely support this. Blair and MCPS has been completely unfair to the crew team with providing no information about the allegations.

Go Blair Crew! From what I've heard, this is a great time, and I'm sorry they've been impacted by all this. Best of luck with recruiting, fundraising, and competing this fall. This team is the only rowing club on the eastern side of the county, so it really is important for kids in the Silver Spring area. They usually have a huge wreath sale around the holidays, and I hope they'll have that sale and that everyone in the community will support the team in getting financially back on track. Part of their proceeds from fundraising always go to scholarships, which is also a great thing.

It is good news to hear that Blair Crew is back on track and moving forward. It sounds like MCPS jumped to conclusions and sent that harsh letter without really looking into things. Best of luck to the team on a great season!

I think it's probably less about sock puppetting than it is about the general public being sick and tired of MCPS conducting themselves in a way that is not transparent. MCPS lets people like that principal who was in the news get promoted when he's being investigated for a whole bunch of sexual harassment incidents and then sends out a damning letter to the community about a sports club without ever actually stating the charges or communicating with the club.

Update: Blair Crew investigation is over and the team has been welcomed back to MCPS facilities, as nothing came of the mysterious allegations.

No they did not. No one from the organization was ever questioned and yet they said there was an investigation that has been concluded. ???

Anything from the principal? She sent a scary sounding email at the beginning of this saga but has been quite since. If the investigation is over, she should at least let the community know and not try to act like no damage was done.
