Stupid question, but can I leave my baby in the car for this?

I get the sarcasm, but actually, where i used to drop my kids off, it was a parking lane on a busy road where recently there have been more than 5 car jackings, so sadly, were I in that situation today, I might not take that risk.

OP, follow the lead of others, or ask the school what other do, if you don't know the area well yet, and in the end only you can make the judgment on whether it is safe where you are.

Then you should find a new family. I have always told our nannies it's fine to leave the baby in the car for drop off.

That…has nothing to do with OP being in the car or not.

30 feet? Yes, I would. That's about the length of two cars. Anything more than that, no.

Forgot to add, so this probably takes, what all of 30 seconds and you do not enter the building? Yes, I would do that.

Less snarky…the car seat with a handle works best if you carry it beside you. Less work than a snap and go. https://www.wikihow.com/Carry-a-Car-Seat

It takes more time and coordination, but please don’t leave your child alone in car.

I don't see a problem with leaving baby in the car, if it really is only 30 ft.

This parent left her bsby in care for pickup. And she felt the judgement on my fsce. Pure disgust!

I have done this many times for dropoff and the car was always within line of sight. Cracked window open, locked the doors, took key with me, handed off older child to teacher, headed back to car. All takes 1 minute. If teacher wanted to talk or prolong dropoff, I would walk back to the car, get the baby, and go back to the conversation. This is not hard.

As someone who is barely 5’1, I find it really awkward to carry the car seat like that. The snap n go is so much easier for me. Just wanted to throw out that perspective.

If it’s 30 ft I would do it, with the car locked and running. But if you have to be out of sight at all, no.

Our daycare explicitly prohibits this FYI. No children 13 and under are allowed to be left in the car.

No. Not safe.

OP explicitly said the car would be in a secure location, so I'm guessing not a parking lane on a busy road.
