I think the gay speculation comes from the culture. The more religious, and the more ethnic in this community, the less acceptance of LGBTQ identity, including their own. So, a lot of gay people marry into straight relationships, either deliberately or unwittingly. This happens in other religious and ethnic communities as well, but, yep, this is a thing here.

Asking if someone is truly gay on a relationship show is very relevant to the actual show premise where they are trying to match men and women. I don't think some of those matches were ever going to work with the opposite sex, which is fine. I just hope their religion is able to support that and it doesn't seem like it is. So some of them were very sad to watch because these people could be happy if they were just not Jewish and forced into heterosexual relationships
