Radford has a pretty campus, but how can you really say it’s the most beautiful in Virginia? |
A lot of people give JMU guff for having an Interstate separate the two sides of the campus. If I recall correctly, Duke's West and East campuses are separated by a major highway and are a bus ride apart. But not in Virginia, so it should not be on this thread. |
VCU doesn’t have a true campus. It’s mixed in with the city, but I think the location it’s in is attractive. |
It's pretty, but also pick up on something like that. |
How is Charlottesville the pitta? Did daughter will be there in the fall. |
Charlottesville and surrounding area is one of the nicest parts of Virginia. |
Some have a perception that the city government is not very competent and crime is increasing. |
It is kind of the NYU of Virginia. Many kids who go there probably choose it over other options based on its setting. |
This board bashes UVa/VT for being too selective and then says Radford/ODU are too accessible even though open access schools actually educate those that need it the most. |
Schools like ODU may do more to change more lives than the schools that dominate DCUM discussions. But back to the topic, it isn't my favorite campus in Virginia. |
Pp here. There is that but the city itself is also just kind of ugly. Yea, the surrounding area is ok, if overrated. But the city itself? Bleh. The downtown mall area is getting a little sketch too, especially at night |
The secret societies and history are part of the character of UVA, but that same mysterious vibe can feel slightly dark. |
|
There should be a thread for the ugliest building on a Virginia college campus.
I'll start. Slusher Tower at Va Tech. Looks like the Soviets or East Germans built it. |
This surprises me. I’m not too familiar with Charlottesville but I’ve always heard it’s a really nice town. |
Exactly. This is also a World Heritage Site: |
