Kamala Harris and VP expectations

But then, let’s think about this. When was the last time we had a VP who wasn’t a joke? (Don’t tell me Biden because his image completely changed after 8 years of Obama; he went from rough-hewn loose cannon who had friends across the aisle to stabilizing grandpa after Trump). Gore was always viewed as a bit of a clown…Was it Bush?? VPs are always a laughing stock. Otherwise they’d get the nomination.

Are we being too harsh on Kamala? And if not, who’d want that gig? Anyone worth his/her salt is eyeing the top job.

I like her but agree that she has been disappointing and fails to connect with many people.

Do you think this is her personality and lack of public speaking skills or the fact that she has not been given enough opportunities to shine?

no one who is actually good needs to be "given opportunities to shine"

she ran for President and got blown out of the water

as VP, she has been on TV plenty, and has accomplished little with it except giving people more material to mock her with

if she was capable of shining she would have done it by now

This is pretty much true. She is impeachment insurance.

LOLOL, so bad. Of course she had to try to pull out the "joy comes in the morning" at Essence festival, like that pandering was gonna save her.

Sounds like Joey Tribbiani's speech about giving and receiving.

NP... All I can say is "meh."

Sure, Kamala hasn't done anything of significance or consequence as VP - but neither did Mike Pence or much of any other VP in I don't know how long.

Cheney and his neocon buddies ran the show for Bush the second.

At worst, the VP should be a non-entity. Kamala is actively bad without the consequence or substance. It's actually kind of impressive when you think about it.

Can we get Willie Brown to chime in?

Emptiest of human beings. But the fact that the other person was just nodding her head and smiling is even more concerning. Is she equally dumb?

She’s an utter embarrassment — just as much as Joe is.
Can’t they pass some kind of mental illness evaluation?

She needs to step out of the next race.

I agree in principle because she does not offer the ticket anything.

However, who do we replace her with? I don't see any other Democratic Presidential wannabe offering anything to the ticket either.

Clyburn won 2020 for the Democrats. You can be "sick" all you want, but them's the facts.

You will deal with Clyburn and "his kind".
