LAMB Waitlist

A friend that was on the waitlist got an email last week implying they were done going to the WL. It said basically was like thanks for applying, please try again next year, and here are a few bilingual charters that have spots. I assume that means no one else will be taken off the WL, but of course not sure.

Hello-

We are currently in the high single digits on the waitlist for the 24-25 school year. Based on historic waitlists we should get in. Does anyone have experience to share about when we find out (one way or the other)? LAMB's school year starts on August 26th. Is it likely we would find out before then? Do they continue to manage the waitlist after August 26th?

Thanks for your help!

No knowledge of possible wait list movement this year (though in the past they've called up from the wait list in the first week), but as the online calendar states, the first three (? I think, maybe it's only two?) days are only for returning kids, or are half days for all new kids, or something (honestly it's been a long time since my kids were little - but you should look at the calendar online, it will have this information). This is pretty consistent among Montessori schools, but just want to flag so it doesn't come as a surprise to you later if you get an offer.

I hope this doesn’t happen to you but last year we were #5 on the waitlist the first day the lottery was released. We never got in (that was PK4).

Because of the mixed grade classrooms, the LAMB waitlist is a little screwy. Don’t assume you are getting in, even if you are number 1.

Hm weird. I know a bunch of people who left. I feel like it will move still bc they backfill. But I really don’t know.

What grade is this for?

We got in off the waitlist for prek-4 a few years ago and were notified in mid-September. This was back when they had two campuses, I’m not sure how the consolidation impacted things.

LAMB doesn’t backfill past primary (K). You might have more information than me but the current waitlist data doesn’t suggest that a lot of people in primary left.

Say what you want about the unevenness of upper elementary (and I can’t speak to that, my kids are still in lower EL) but LAMB has a pretty magical and unique primary program- spots past prek3 don’t open up unless it’s for pretty unique circumstances.

Like other schools, LAMB goes into its waitlist into October until count day. The offers that late are for PK3; as others have mentioned, they let in very few students for PK4 and K, and do not backfill after K. Good luck!

This is for PreK3. This information about the waitlist moving well into the school year (and possibly into October) is really helpful to know. Appreciate the insight!

DP from 19:44: I know quite a few people who received October offers over the years. I would think you have a good chance in the high single digits. One thing to note: the past few years, there hasn't been enough aftercare slots for everyone, so you probably wouldn't get aftercare with a waitlist offer, which might totally stink depending on your needs. Just a heads up, and again, good luck!

Thank you! Very helpful!

Another question- how is Casa Lala? I see on here that people generally like it. Is that still true?

Do you mean for aftercare? Or for camp/day-off camps?
