People LOVE overreacting. It makes them feel virtuous to come here and post. |
Get with it, since Obama everyone is anti-Israel since they occupy Palestine. Yet Jews keep voting Dem. |
Despite their shortcomings dems are just preferable to the tiki torch crowd. |
| 50%+ of voters are tiki torchers and support Israel? Wow. |
As far as someone can be antisemitic and support Israel, sure. |
Maybe some overreact, but most seem content to sweep these things under the rug. |
At Westland, which feeds into BCC. How is this related to Whitman? |
That's the thing. There were some "radical" ideas in the past, like ending slavery, allowing women to vote, civil rights which could be construed as "hate speech" against the group who stood to lose out by such changes. It's a good thing we have the 1st amendment that protects hate speech. However, schools do have more leeway as long as the restrictions are not viewpoint-specfic. They can restrict t-shirts about the middle east conflict, but not only those that are pro-Israel or pro-Palestine. |
Yes, half the country sux, haven’t you heard? You’re ok tho, in a blue or purple area. |
So we're talking about being tolerant of a person's right to be hateful? At what point do we draw the line? |
Again? Sources? |
Disturbing incident at Churchill that the media reported on https://wjla.com/news/local/students-allegedly-caught-exchanging-n-word-passes-at-md-school |
yes, that's one from 4 years ago. and? |
That was as bad as the one with the kids in blackface, but there are so many posts documenting these incidents at the W's to choose from... |
I agree. I means DCUMers and the public in general likes to overreact. Of course MCPS will sweep as much stuff under the rug as possible. |
