Instead of addressing class size, they spend all their time spending millions of $$ on renaming schools. They need to all be voted out.

They also spent hours last night discussing an unplanned resolution introduced by Ricardy Anderson, whose district has among the smallest class sizes in the county, to support “antiracist” teaching that focuses on “systemic racism,” etc.

The motion was tabled for further discussion later this month so it will continue to chew up time and attention as the language gets renegotiated. It is all political posturing and won’t do a damn thing to call attention to or address oversized classes and overcrowded schools.

This School Board is pathetic and needs to be voted out next year.

That stunt by Anderson was disgusting. She tried to disrupt the whole meeting to appease activists and add yet another meaningless resolution to the long list of ceremonial bs.

Regarding class size, what do previous posters want done? There is a shortage of teachers and classrooms. You can’t just magically make class sizes smaller.

You can increase pay and the shortage of teachers will likely disappear. Instead of spending eSSER money on Covid tests that nobody asked for, increase pay.
Where will the money come from to increase the wages and add more teachers to lower class sizes? The school Board does not control the amount money it receives.

And where are extra classrooms supposed to come from? Many of our schools are full or overcrowded and we know how DCUM feels about trailers.

Repurpose other space for now until funding is secured for expansion and construction is completed. Music teachers come to classrooms rather than dedicated rooms etc.

ESSER funds can’t be spent on teacher salaries. It is so limiting and restrictive and frustrating.
