Bacon should only be eaten alone. It overpowers anything else it’s put in.

Brunch sucks.

Most cake isn’t good.

You're so correct. I hate olives.

American cheese is the only cheese that belongs in a grilled cheese. For the record, I am not the poster who made the same comment regarding cheeseburgers, but I think we'd hit it off

Pink Sauce does not look good or tasty.

Eating meat is a violent way to eat.

I have a ton! Mayo is disgusting, hamburgers if we’ll prepared should not have anything on them - I don’t want your fancy mayo aioli Bs, truffles are gross, eggplant is the weirdest texture no matter how it’s cooked, mushrooms are the earths way to poison you in general, steak should be medium rare at most or don’t bother, fresh seafood doesn’t need fancy dressing on it. Tofu is gross. Icing and frosting are gross.

And I can't for the life of me understand how mayo became a burger condiment. Why does a greasy/juicy burger need extra oil? Burger needs a little bit of acidic mustard, that's about it.

I read that chefs believe a high-quality burger shouldn't be dressed with cheese or ketchup. But of course that's not what most of us are getting.

Maybe they “believe” that in order to justify charging $50+ for some ridiculous foie gras burger. But I guarantee, the vast majority of American chefs will happily gobble up an American cheese and ketchup covered burger any day. Remember, Shake Shack was started by Danny Meyer of Gramercy Tavern fame.

I wouldn’t conflate business decisions with what’s tasty. The fake orange cheese is burned into the masses’ psyche, plus you get to charge $1 up charge for a slice that costs 1 cent.

A few chefs on why it has to be American cheese on a burger:

Natural peanut and nut butters are disgusting.

Skippy and Jif creamy are the only way to go.

Mayo is disgusting as is any Mayo based “salad” such as tuna salad, egg salad, etc
Eggs are gross and it freaks me out to imagine eating them
Hot Coffee w cream and sugar makes me feel sick. I can only drink my coffee black if it’s hot. However I do like frozen, blended ice coffee drinks w cream and sugar.
I’m vegetarian now so obviously don’t eat any meat any more but when I did eat meat, I always thought chicken, Turkey, and pork were disgusting. The only meat I ever liked was a beef hamburger or a steak sometimes.

That’s me!! I actually like a variety of cheeses in my grilled cheese depending on my mood. But a super buttery grilled cheese with Kraft singles does hit different. Incredible.

+1000 on the mayo

I hate condiments. My family thinks it’s funny. Mayo ketchup etc.

Eating well done steak is an abomination. Bacon should be illegal.

I don’t believe kale is any more healthy than any other greens. But it is tough and disgusting.

This is my kid's controversial opinion as well. She loves cake and cupcakes but hates frosting. She's also not a brownie or cookie fan.
