It’s not a scrimmage, it’s a showcase. Very different and taken pretty seriously. SJC is a very different team now. Their 2022 season is over, this is representative of the 2023 season.

SJC lost and it doesn’t look good for them.

SJC lost two games, Malvern Prep and the Flyers from NY.

Right SJC fans can’t have it both ways the 2022 class is gone different team amd now just a average team.

The 2023 season will be fun. Some are full of hope right now. The haters will fade again and begin talking about the 2024 season after a few games in.

Some general observations here from a current parent whose son participated in the red session.

Over 50 HS programs from around the country were in attendance.

Out of the 8 teams that qualified for the winners/elimination bracket, 4 of them were from the DC area. (GP, Landon, SJC, & PVI). Not a single team from the Baltimore MIAA advanced to the winner's bracket which I thought was interesting. (McDonogh, Spalding, Gilman, St Paul's, Loyola, & Calvert Hall were present).

I was able to catch several teams' plays when there were 2-hour gaps in between my son's game.

SJC is still good but nowhere even close to what they were in 2022.
Prep offensively looks like they will be on fire in most games and can score at will.
Landon really surprised me as their 2024 class looks apart.
PVI was very athletic and scrappy.

Based on what I saw yesterday, the DC area appears to be stronger than the MIAA in 2023.

However, they will lose a game to a DMV team. Top teams in the IAC: Prep, Bullis, Landon, SSSAS, top teams in the WCAC: SJC, Gonzaga, Dematha, PVI and SJC will be the strongest team aside from them almost any team can beat any other team on any given game. Collectively the DMV teams will be stronger than the MIAA teams in 2023.

First sneak peak of the 2023 season and SJC is already dropped out of the top spot.

SJC was without FOGO - 2 starting attack (1 being the top offensive player in the area) and goalie in games this weekend. Seems they will be ok. Defense will be the question mark and based on scores they did well.

One thing we all should know by now. St. John’s won’t be outworked this off-season. Local teams better be doing more than just “hitting the wall”.

Pretty sure SJC fogo was there for one of the days.

SJC was missing one starting attackman, Duenkel, not 2.

Landon transfer will start. He didn’t play. FOGO didn’t play. Injured.

Coach was very happy with the way the team played considering the missing players. Continue with the hate. SJC isn’t going anywhere. 22 class was only the beginning.

Red division weak division SJC not even in the top 20 nationally now.

How many transfers is Prep bringing in? Would
They be a 500 team without the face off transfer and attack transfer?
I guess with the pole leaving they should bring in as many as they can. Need to compete with Bullis and make sure all the Mater Dei kids don’t end up at Gonzaga.
