I'm seriously considering taking my kids out of public school

And how much does this cost? Not everyone is rich. You will just raise a very anxious child.

Only rich kids deserve safety and security of course.

All kids deserve safety and security but that is not going to happen in this country. We struggle to send our child to a very secure private school. My heart breaks for those who simply can’t afford to keep their kids as safe as possible.

OP. We have lived in both. We live in Pennsylvania, and I don't feel any safer than when we lived in FL. We were minutes away from Parkland. Surprisingly, parkland was a very nice area. It's not what you think of when Florida comes to mind.

Sounds like a prison.

It’s actually beautiful. Honestly.

There was a private school shooting just last month, but keep pushing this storyline.

That was not a school shooting, you fool! Someone from a neighborhood I got building shot at the school and no one was killed!!

God, no! Exact opposite in most good private schools. Overly liberal if anything.

Every parent I know in our privateer school supports strong gun control. It’s not a religious private, btw.

Those were public schools. Kids like that would be flagged and expelled from private school.

Haha. You wish. But whatever helps you sleep at night.

They were public schools, PP. At our school those type of kids would be counseled out. I know it as I work in the office.

Please don’t fake laugh at things you have no clue about. It’s just embarrassing for you.

Not every private is a “top” private or gets rid of troubled kids. And not all troubled kids show it so obviously. Ask me how I know.

You start paying attention to the lack of effective mental health services for teen boys from fatherless homes.

Would you STFU about fatherless homes. No evidence it matters.

Name one teen killer who had a present, loving and respectable father at home.

Both of the Columbine kids did.

Several schools on this non-exhaustive list are private:

Unbelievable….so sad…and so unnecessary! Another bullied kid. Two assault rifles purchased on his 18th birthday! Wearing protective gear! Shooting unarmed innocents. Will legislators finally enact gun control measures that will make such scenes not happen?
