Pandering.

He is surprisingly thing on education. He talks of finding other locations, but doesn’t suggest any. He talks of adding PS3 and PK4 to Ward 3, but doesn’t understand there is NO space without more schools. He talks of supporting a MS at MacArthur, but doesn’t understand that it is a terrible location for a middle school (the needed new middle school has to be near Deal in order to relieve overcrowding there.)

In short, he is remarkably ignorant on education. His kids don’t attempt public school, so perhaps that’s why. But I honestly think he just doesn’t give a damn about public schools.

His kids aren’t in DCPS/DCPCS?

That is correct. His kids are not in DCPS. Privates.

No wonder he fits right in with the Foxhallers. There is a decided anti-public-school slant in that crowd. Not just indifference, but outright hostility. I've been to FCCA meetings where they openly talked about how horrible it would be to have a public school in the neighborhood. In the Working Group I remember one Foxhaller saying he didn't know anyone who sent their kids to public school.

I can attest to that. It one of the more recent meetings, one Foxhaller lamented in the chat that their dog park would become a “kid park”.

More foundationally, he doesn't understand that adding more middle school seats within the Jackson-Reed boundaries without a new high school blows the top off of Jackson-Reed. That's pretty basic.

The horror. Won't someone please think of the childless?

That is disappointing. I don’t want someone who thinks they are too good for public school.

Come on over to Ward 4, parents of children. The Hardy principal is now in charge at the middle school. A school which is open, in existence, and isn't hated by elderly neighbors with dogs.

If the failure of a half dozen progressive candidates to collectively figure their shit out and put the city’s interests ahead of their own egos results in the election this cretin, they all should be exiled to the Foxhall Village Historic District for reeducation.

Is Frumin really against Foxhall?

Submit this question via his website. He answered mine almost immediately.

He literally wrote about it on his website. The link was already posted here.

I read it and have to hand it to the guy that he knows how to construct a position statement that takes so many positions that almost anybody can read it and find something that they agree (or disagree) with.

This is why I suggested writing to him. Push him on it directly.

DP...I wrote him about it and am satisfied with the response I received.

the parts of it that are of concern to me might be different than yours, and there are a lot of nuances, so better for you to reach out directly.

The person apparently responsible for the “Save Hardy Park. Say no to Tricia Duncan” signs posted to the Foxhall listserv that Matt Frumin will be holding a meet and greet hosted by one of the leaders of the “Save Hardy Park” campaign on June 5th.

I was planning to vote for him. If this is true, I’ll likely switch to Duncan. If anyone has more info, please post it.

Duncan also posted directly on the Glover Park listserv that Glover Park families that walk to school will not need to drive to the new ES and that the border should be drawn from Mann/Key only.

All candidates should meet with all groups, short of the KKK and the like. It doesn't mean support for them, nor don't support them, nor anything. They're politicians!
