Nah. But are you going on record that you agree with him that women should stay in abusive marriages for the sake of the kids? |
We're just asking questions. What's wrong with asking questions? |
The GOP is pandering to their new " base" , which is uneducated and unemployed/ under- employed and typically divorced white men. As we all know, in the last few years the life expectancy rate of working class white men is actually declining for the 1st time in USA history.
Clearly, this is a voting block of the USA that has PROBLEMS. Socio-Economic problems severe and long standing enough that their life expectancy is falling. ENTER the GOP I say that the "pandering" to these uneducated and under/unemployed white men because IF the GOP truly wanted to INCREASE the chance that a Woman would want to marry such a man and have his baby ( rather than opt for divorce and/or abortion to pursue better prospects on her own), what the GOP COULD DO to actually help their voter base is: * Nationalize Health Car, which would give businesses back 30% of their employer costs and allow them the margins to raise these men's wages * Bring American manufacturing back to USA so these uneducated men can get their higher earning union jobs back * Pass mandatory $15/hr min wage ( many of these UNDER employed men work a double shift 7a-3/ 3-11pm) for about $7/hr because minimum wage is soooo low ( of course no woman wants to marry or have a baby with a GROWN man who only earns $7/hr * fully paid 12 month maternity leave for every pregnant woman in America- you know, like most developed countries offer Those are REAL policies the GOP COULD TAKE to help its base . Trying to force the women of this social class to have a baby will only compound their poverty. It also won't work. Women will always find a way out, which is why all this GOP talk to ban abortion is just poor public policy that won't deliver what these men want: good paying jobs and a family |
Meanwhile here’s millionaire bestselling author/venture capital guy JD Vance starting a nonprofit pretending to help with Ohio’s opioid crisis, asking for donations from others, but actually just enriching himself further.
“Five years later, the much-ballyhooed nonprofit Our Ohio Renewal seems to have faltered before it ever got off the ground. Its status is now raising questions about the credentials of Vance, who wants to replace retiring GOP Sen. Rob Portman in 2022. A review by Insider of the nonprofit's tax filings showed that in its first year, Our Ohio Renewal spent more on "management services" provided by its executive director Jai Chabria — who also serves as Vance's top political advisor — than it did on programs to fight opioid abuse.” https://www.businessinsider.com/jd-vance-anti-opioid-nonprofit-our-ohio-renewal-senate-campaign-2021-8 |
No surprise. Most foundations and nonprofits are scams laundering money to each other and execs at the top enriching themselves. |
Well said. |
… but maybe we shouldn’t elect people who do that? Just a thought. |
Well, yeah. But again, it's so pervasive it basically goes without saying. Same with campaigns being a big scam for the candidate, plus their friends and family, to milk dry. |
Do you have any proof that it’s so pervasive? Because from where I sit it sounds like you’re trying to both sides an example of GOP corruption. |
+2. Former Ohioan who watches my friends and family from a distance and wonder what the actual eff is happening to them. They voting in ways that is against their interests in every single way possible. |
Turns out that being a hateful pos is more important to them than actual best interest |
LBJ was not wrong when he said: “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.” Women, LGBTQIA+, different races, immigrants, different religious people… the primary signifier of GOP voters is that they want to lord over someone else and beyond that they don’t care how little they have or how much is taken from them. |
How quickly Vance went from hero when he wrote the book to a campaign thief, a spouse beater, and a racist.
I’ve got whiplash |
He was never a hero. He was promoted by elitists as a Trojan horse to appeal to the rubes. It has worked so far. He’s the Republican Senate nominee. |
Exactly |
