Is this a real question?

50 is from NY

It doesn’t matter. He and Em were signed by Dre. Everyone knows about East West history.

I don't believe that's common knowledge. Dcum isn't the place for rap scholars, ya know?

NP it may not be common knowledge on this site but I think it’s pretty common knowledge among anyone who was a teenager/early twenties in the late 90s.

+1. I'm a bland 40s soccer mom and thought every adult over 25 tops knows this. Also, fiddy looked good - not shredded but solid and strong and I wouldn't have predicted this silliness.

+1

All of the commercials are targeting our generation too. I guess bc us 40+yr olds have the disposable income the advertisers are seeking?

Crypto isn't aimed at y'all.

But the remaining 98% of the commercials are.

X1000. Altho this site isn’t the demographics for those artists.

Lol.

I’m 47.

These songs are part of the soundtrack from my prime.

But they don’t lend themselves to a super bowl show. Too bad Mary J didn’t sing one of her hits.

She did. It was one of her biggest hits.

Real Love was her biggest hit. Everyone knows that song—even younger generations. And it’s more of a dance anthem…appropriate for a show like this.

Real Love was a big hit but Family Affair was huge. Everyone knew that song back in the day. It was a good choice.

+1 Weird that PP keeps going in on Real Love being more recognizable. She’s well known for both. Family Affair isn’t an obscure B-side.

My kids felt awkward watching people with so little clothing dancing. They asked to go to bed!

Lol. My daughter (7) said she felt bad for the singer who had to perform with all these butts in his space.

It took me back to a more simple time a really good time. After all this BS we keep going through let us not forget to sit back and enjoy life.
I loved the performance

Real Love is currently in a healthcare commercial every few minutes (well done BTW), so I think that’s why it wasn’t in the show.

You just proved the point by not getting Family Affair is one of her biggest hits.

All the songs performed on the half time show by other artists were produced by Dr Dre. That’s why MJB did that particular song.

We know.

His arrogance at requiring songs he produced resulted in a less exciting show.

I know it was a hit.

But Real Love was the bigger hit. And more fun. The beat definitely would have been better for a dance performance.
