Falls Church City GT program

Anonymous
I read through the program brochure and my kid satisfies 3/4 of the requirements (COGAT and STAR results. No NNAT available because he didn't take it) Does anyone know how the teacher portion of the selection process goes?

I am trying to figure out if this is something I should push for. DS is 99% in all tests but COGAT verbal. But this also doesn't seem like a dazzler in NOVA, where everyone's kids seem to be G&T. Anyone familiar with FCCPS's G&T program who can share their experience?

This is the AAP board, I would guess that most of the posters who are actively reading the AAP board have kids who are scoring in the 98-99th percentile on standardized tests and are investigating the Advanced/Gifted programs for their kids. I get that people find topics in the recent post list but maybe they can look at what board that the post is in and not be a judgemental ass.

OP: We are in FCPS so I can't help you with your question. I think most of the people posting in the AAP forum are out of FCPS with some folks from other counties that are interested in TJ. You would probably be best contacting your school and asking for information there.

Thank you for the kind response. I will contact the school but wanted to gather information before I did, as there is one person in the school in charge of this and I don't really want to be a burden. I figured DCUMers would shed some light on the process in anonymity.
