| In terms of quality of education, support for undergrads, post-graduate opportunities, any reason to encourage DC to choose one rather than the other? DC is on the fence. OOS so money not an issue either way. |
| SFS or College at Gtown? |
| If money isn’t an issue, Georgetown for sure. Mine can’t decide because we are in state. |
College. |
As a Gtown alum who knows and hires from the school, I’d say UVA if instate tuition and Gtown if not. I love Georgetown for what it did for me, but it’s pricy and UVA is great and the price os right for instate. |
| UVA. |
| Please give reasons? |

I attended one and work at the other. You have two great options. And for all the ways they’re different (private/public, big city/college town, no Greek life/big Greek life), they also have a lot of similarities (lots of prep school kids/money, very strong humanities, engaged student bodies, lots of activities).
I think it really comes down to your kid’s preferences: how big of a student body are they looking for? Are they looking for a big football school? Does the Jesuit ethos appeal to them? How important is the beauty/feel of the campus? Do they want Greek life? Does the idea of going to school in the city appeal to them? I don’t think you can go wrong academically, so I’d focus on lifestyle. |
Neither is a big football school. Lol |
| OP you didn’t say the major? |
| Depends on price. |
? Football games at UVA are a big deal. It’s not Michigan, but the social culture around football games is real. Not so at Georgetown. |
|
If Business or Foreign Service, Georgetown.
If price is same or not a factor, Georgetown. |

I went to uva undergrad and Georgetown for grad
They are pretty different schools. They both have a preppy vibe, and have great reputations academically, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end, so I agree to choose based on fit. Which one would your dc like more? |
OOS UVA is $10k less than Georgetown full pay. It’s also less expensive to live at UVA |
