| I understand I'm supposed to give money in a certain multiple? is it of 7 or 18? |
| 18. |
| Is 90 ok for a good friend? |
Fine. |
| We would give at minimum $200. |
| Give in accordance with your budget and relationships to the family, in multiples of 18. We do 180 for the closest of family friends. While we could afford more, these are still 13 year old kids. We plan to give them larger cash gifts for their wedding. |
| 18 bucks |
You should be embarrassed. I’ve spent more than that on a preschool friend I’ve never met! |
This exactly. And we do $180 for good friends. |
I find your response embarrassing. |
We are clearly in different tax brackets. I don’t spend $200 on my own kids. |
How often do your kids prepare for four to six months after six years of extra schooling to get the honor of being called up to read from the torah? On any other birthday my kids get a gift of $15-$50, but this is special and although I earn less than six figures, I save for this because it's important and special. |
Definitely is special..but that does not mean there is a fee to attend. |
| Nothing should be expected, anything should be appreciated. If the kid expects a certain amount you’re doing it wrong |
|
Is the whole family attending?
If it's just your child attending, $54 is most common amount. If it's the whole family attending, I would multiply 18 to get to around $200. |
