Instead of asking random people on the internet if stuff is safe too eat- why not look up information from a government agency that uses science for its recommendations? The amount of bad food safety advice on here is shocking. Esp the if it smells OK it must be ok to eat.

A lot of this is over-cautious and based on the worst-case scenario. If there's even a 1 in a million chance of someone dying from something, FDA will base recommendations to avoid that one death. |
You have set the bar pretty low if your goal for food safety is "don't die." We have grown beyond caveman times, friend |
| I keep leftovers for longer than recommended because I hate waste and it saves time to eat leftovers or at least repurpose them into a new dish. That said, I am careful with refrigeration and keeping things at the proper temperature and cooking them to a proper internal temperature. I will keep foods up to a week but rarely ever get that far because I plan my meals to eat up the leftovers. Even with the occasional overdue leftover, however, I have never gotten food poisoning in my life nor have any of my family members. |
