Arlington Police PSA -- We are strapped and going to do less

Anonymous
Just a got a notice from ACPD that they are doing more online and telephone and less in person police investigation and reporting. Property crimes will be investigated less. That was absolute disaster in San Francisco, are we doomed for same fate albeit without the mad tech money appreciation?

Most Arlington residents wanted to defund the police, so you get what you ask for.

Back here in reality, the Arlington County PD's budget went up this year.

I live in CA, we are the Canaries in the Coal Mine for this. Huge uptick in random and violent crimes.

High COL localities everywhere are having this problem. Being a cop/firefighter/EMT in those places sucks because you have to commute from a ridiculous distance. The easier option is working where you live for a similar salary. San Francisco offers absurd salaries for cops and still has trouble recruiting

The new CWA has no interest in prosecuting those crimes. Why bother with investigating them? The people voted out Theo. They wanted a new approach. Actions have consequences.

I agree, this is what Arlington voters wanted so will be watching how it goes. Maybe there's something special about VA where it won't play out the same way as CA but I doubt it.

Sounds like you solved the problem.

Let Arlington go the way of the other progressive cities. They want nothing but dense high rises in single family neighborhoods so that they can pack in as many people as possible. I don't care because my family has property in Arlington and will only make more money as they bring more poor people into CAF housing. The tipping has already begun as the wealthy are moving their children from public schools to private schools and the middle class are stretching to do the same or moving children to Catholic schools. The 6,000 people who control the Arlington Democratic Party -- and by extension the County -- can deal with the masses of people and pat themselves on the back for making "Arlington for All." We just don't want to live with the "all."

You're really close to it. Just go on and say that word that you're really itching to say.

+1. OP you sound surprised! You know you voted for this, right?

Such a weird county.

Good. Don’t need ‘em anyway.

How much are property crimes investigated now? Have you ever even heard of someone whose car was stolen getting it back because the police investigated?
Anonymous
Sad. So not only do we have the car free diet, but now the safety free diet.

SF, NYC have both become crime ridden dumps under these policies; you’d think the people here would have learned by example.
