Do you know of anywhere in the DMV (preferably DC or close-in) that is doing in-person cooking classes focusing on technique? I consider myself a good cook, but I think I'd benefit from a knife skills class for starters, but then maybe some other technique focused classes for things I find more challenging or could help my cooking game overall. Culinaerie in Logan Circle used to offer these, but they've been closed since early pandemic. I'm not looking for a "Date Night" kind of thing learning to prepare one meal. Thanks! |
I am not sure where in the DMV you are, but I would check community colleges that have a culinary arts program - sometimes during the summer they have skills classes in their continuing ed section for adults. I am in Frederick County and I know the FCC does pastry, bread, knife, and a few other classes during the summer and winter breaks while the traditional students are out of session.
You could also try a private lesson - I did a private knife skills class as part of an Epitourean vacation (coastal Maine) about ten years ago and it was the best part of the vacation. |
Sur La Table has great cooking classes, including one on just knife skills. |
Culinaria, in Vienna, offers knife skills and other classes. https://culinariacookingschool.com/culinaria-classes/ |
