He really did show how smart clubs navigate helping their players. |

In the 2026–2027 school year, children born after August 1, 2010, will generally be entering 10th grade (Sophomore year) or 11th grade (Junior year), depending on their specific birth month and your local district's cutoff date.

How? Be specific OR go home • U18/U19 players are 8/1/2007 or younger. Teams likely have seniors or juniors or younger and likely use a 11v11 field • U17 players are 8/1/2009 or younger. Teams likely have mostly juniors but also could include seniors and sophomores or younger and likely use a 11v11 field • U16 players are 8/1/2010 or younger. Teams likely have mostly sophomores but also could include juniors and freshmen or younger and likely use a 11v11 field • U15 players are 8/1/2011 or younger. Teams likely have mostly freshmen but also could include sophomores and 8th-graders or younger and likely use a 11v11 field • U14 players are 8/1/2012 or younger. Teams likely have mostly 8th-graders but also could include freshmen and 7th-graders or younger and likely use a 11v11 field • U13 players are 8/1/2013 or younger. Teams likely have mostly 7th-graders but also could include 8th-graders and 6th-graders or younger and likely use a 11v11 field • U12 players are 8/1/2014 or younger. Teams likely have mostly kindergartners but also could include 1st-graders or preschoolers and likely use a 4v4 field |
Hes saying to play on grade for showcases. What do you not understand? He also said an Aug birthday can play down at the same level (sophmore ) a second time. This allows them to be seen 2x at the most recruited level. Heres the catch. If you didnt get recruited when playing on the correct grade in school team. Why do you think you'll get recruited playing a grade down? College coaches wouldnt be looking for your graduating year players when scouting at the sophmore level. |
This one is correct, no one can play down from their age group and any grade can play in any age group as along as their DOB makes them eligible. |
No, it totally does. I know a player/family that is doing this. Summer Bday, so trapped. Would be the case either in BY or SY. |
Heres your homework all filled out for you. Want me to turn it in as well? For date logic, “and younger” only works if you are describing ages, not birthdates. |
Please explain how a player born before 8/1 is able to play down on a younger team. |
100% wrong age guy |

It is correct. You misread it. Refers to players not birthdays. |
Its not but you're the one that doesnt understand math so.... |
I see the problem then. You are arguing that players can play down an age group even if they are not eligible. Wow, you have been making an incorrect argument this whole time. |
The GA is allowing it for that season only It makes total sense otherwise what else would that player do while her team plays HS and is in 9th grade? I believe the ECNL made similar exceptions for trapped players at various stages in the BY system. Nothing new really. |
It's nice they still have a rule to help even if it is rare. |
