Sorry, there are tons of threads where you said not playing on grade makes you unrecruitable (your favorite word). No only did the ECNL shatter that, he explained how it can be a benefit. It's the scene in Good Will Hunting ... How about THEM apples!
He really did show how smart clubs navigate helping their players.

In the 2026–2027 school year, children born after August 1, 2010, will generally be entering 10th grade (Sophomore year) or 11th grade (Junior year), depending on their specific birth month and your local district's cutoff date.

Hes saying to play on grade for showcases. What do you not understand?

He also said an Aug birthday can play down at the same level (sophmore ) a second time. This allows them to be seen 2x at the most recruited level.

Heres the catch. If you didnt get recruited when playing on the correct grade in school team. Why do you think you'll get recruited playing a grade down? College coaches wouldnt be looking for your graduating year players when scouting at the sophmore level.

This one is correct, no one can play down from their age group and any grade can play in any age group as along as their DOB makes them eligible.

This is true BUT currently only for when that trapped kid is in the 8th grade (and her team is playing HS/9th grade).

Ahh you're mixing BY trapped player rules for playing down and SY rules which do not allow playing down.

This has nothing to do with GA or SY allowing playdowns this fall.

No, it totally does. I know a player/family that is doing this. Summer Bday, so trapped. Would be the case either in BY or SY.

For date logic, “and younger” only works if you are describing ages, not birthdates.

• U10 players are 8/1/2016 or younger. Teams likely have mostly 4th-graders but also could include 5th-graders and 3th-graders or younger and likely use a 9v9 field
• U9 players are 8/1/2017 or younger. Teams likely have mostly 3th-graders but also could include 4th-graders and 2th-graders or younger and likely use a 7v7 field
• U8 players are 8/1/2018 or younger. Teams likely have mostly 2nd-graders but also could include 3rd-graders and 1st-graders or younger and likely use a 7v7 field
• U7 players are 8/1/2019 or younger. Teams likely have mostly 1st-graders but also could include 2nd-graders and kindergartners or preschoolers and likely use a 4v4 field
• U6 players are 8/1/2020 or younger. Teams likely have mostly kindergartners but also could include 1st-graders or preschoolers and likely use a 4v4 field

Heres your homework all filled out for you. Want me to turn it in as well?

For date logic, “and younger” only works if you are describing ages, not birthdates.
It is correct. You misread it. Refers to players not birthdays.

Nothing incorrect about this ... Also, he's not really an age guy (he supports us -- but he's more 100% trolling grade guy which you are for your own purposes using as a strawman to make your extreme views more reasonable.).

Its not but you're the one that doesnt understand math so....

Grade guy doesn't understand math

2010s born after 8/1 are most likely to be Sophmores next fall or Juniors. Which is why below is mathematically correct.
Grade guy doesn't understand math
Still 100% correct.
Grade guy doesn't understand math
This is for next fall when SY starts.
Grade guy doesn't understand math
11v11 = U18/U19 = ≤ 8/1/2007 ≈ Senior
11v11 = U17 = ≤ 8/1/2009 ≈ Senior
11v11 = U16 = ≤ 8/1/2010 ≈ Junior
11v11 = U15 = ≤ 8/1/2011 ≈ Sophomore
11v11 = U14 = ≤ 8/1/2012 ≈ Freshman
11v11 = U13 = ≤ 8/1/2013 ≈ 8th grade
9v9/11v11 = U12 = ≤ 8/1/2014 ≈ 7th grade
9v9 = U11 = ≤ 8/1/2015 ≈ 6th grade
9v9 = U10 = ≤ 8/1/2016 ≈ 5th grade
7v7 = U9 = ≤ 8/1/2017 ≈ 4th grade
7v7 = U8 = ≤ 8/1/2018 ≈ 3nd grade
4v4 = U7 = ≤ 8/1/2019 ≈ 2nd grade
4v4 = U6 = ≤ 8/1/2020 ≈ 1st
4v4 = U5 = ≤ 8/1/2021 ≈ Kindergarten
Grade guy doesn't understand math
Using U14 as an example what this is saying is...
Grade guy doesn't understand math
1. They play 11v11
2. Players turn 14 after Aug 1
3. Players are younger than or equal to 8/1/2012
4. Players are most likely in 8th grade or Freshman
This one is correct, no one can play down from their age group and any grade can play in any age group as along as their DOB makes them eligible.

100% wrong age guy
I see the problem then. You are arguing that players can play down an age group even if they are not eligible. Wow, you have been making an incorrect argument this whole time.

Please explain how a player born before 8/1 is able to play down on a younger team.

The GA is allowing it for that season only It makes total sense otherwise what else would that player do while her team plays HS and is in 9th grade? I believe the ECNL made similar exceptions for trapped players at various stages in the BY system. Nothing new really.

It's nice they still have a rule to help even if it is rare.
