I just watched last week's episode on DVR. I can't get enough!! It should be a trashy, poorly written, horribly acted teen angst show--but it's not. Its so good! The story is fantastic, the show stays fresh, the acting is surprisingly good. I am truly obsssed! FWIW, I am an educated, cultured, 30-something attorney who should have better things to do than watch a show on the CW, but I can't get enough of it. I get so excited when that show pops up on my DVR. I hope it is getting the recognition it deserves and isn't lumped in with the other CW shows like 90210. (Not that there is anything wrong with 90210, it's just that Vampire Diaries is actually a high quality show).

Yes. I too am a mother and an attorney in DC and love the show. You are correct, its no where near as trashy as "it should be" and I am grateful for that!!

| I love it too. Damon, AKA Boone from Lost, is just so good looking and I love his good/bad character. I also love Stefan's struggles with the reality of who he really is. |

this is my eye candy show - there are 3 hot men to look at. that is really all I need to know about it. I especially like the teacher - so glad they didn't kill him off!
I watch this with my friend/boss at her home - she runs her own award winning business. She and I have a TV obsession, but we are snobs about it - neither of us is into reality or trash TV. Mostly 1 hour seral dramas - not the type that you can jump in and out of. We also adore True Blood...and were Buffy fanatics way back in the day. But it isn't a vampire obsession (neither of us is into the goofy Twilight stuff) - they are just really great shows. |

| This show has some amazing actors that are able to bring the characters they portray alive. I can honestly say that this show is my eye-candy. I can never get enough of The Vampire Diaries. Also, just because the people are good looking, that factor may contribute a little to the show but the acting is what really makes it. |

I loved Lost, and now it's over. Maybe I'll give Vampire Diaries a try. Jersey Shore was good. I expected it to be trashy and it was! |

It isn't scary but it is about vampires so there is a bit of suspense. |

Just watched the first episode, and have to agree, it seems really compelling. The acting is a pleasant surprise, for CW. I like Elena so much better than Bella.
I have this really gross, long-held curiosity about the modern vampire story, and I've seen/read them all: vampires can hang around with human as long as they don't smell blood, right? When they DO smell blood, they risk losing control. So, recalling a couple of appalling embarssing period incidents (mine and other girls') how is it that menstruating classmates don't drive the vampires crazy every time they have a tampon snafu? |
