| Anyone else at Dominion with Dr. Waud? Which doctor do you plan to switch to when she leaves at the end of the month? |
| Dr. Payson at CCRM |
| CCRM NoVa. |
are they the same doctors and lab that are at rockville CCRM? |
Yes. Rockville CCRM is just a satellite office. It's not open yet. |
| What is everyone's experience with Dr. Dimattina? I am having a hard time ... |
I had success with him but he’s a character. I can see how his personality could be hard for some but I loved the nurses and trusted him. |
I was there years ago, but I thought he was a jerk. I was with a different doctor there (now gone), but was really turned off by my interactions with Dimattina. |
I think I could handle his bedside manner, but he's been working pretty closely with a less-experienced doctor who seems to perform all of the procedures on his behalf. It makes me a little nervous. |
Is the less-experienced doctor you're talking about Dr. Roura? |
| I'm not a fan of Dr. Roura. He's worse than DiMattina. DiMattina is a jerk but he does get results and has 30+ years experience. Roura was pissy to a nurse in front of me. Arrogant but without the experience. Not impressed. That's my 2 cents. |
The first time I met Dr. Roura, he was doing my IUI. He asked me to explain to him what an IUI is. I gave him a snarky reply. Then he proceeded to tell us that the sperm count was low that it probably wouldn't work and we could consider cancelling (right - I was already undressed). None of that was the appropriate time or place. Also, the IUI worked (but we later lost the pregnancy). Dr. Roura has not done a reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship. He IS an OBGYN but he is NOT an RE. Dr. Waud confirmed that for me when I couldn't find anything about his credentials before I started an IVF cycle and questioned who might be doing any of my procedures. I was not ok with him doing my retrieval (and he didn't). It's unclear to me what his overall role at Dominion is. |
| This is weird I had the same experience with Dr. Roura end of November. Also had him shadowing Dr. DiMattina. DiMattina is a piece of work but yes trust him. Also had Dr. Roura interrogate a resident about a vein in the uterus and basically shame her in front of me. Another issue with him is his cologne. Prior to egg retrieval their literature says avoid fragrances and nail polish as they can be fatal for embryos and eggs. I literally had to take showers after he did my mock transfer and IUI to get his cologne sent off of me . .. |
Does anyone know why she left and where she is headed to? |
| She moved to the San Francisco area. I think she was recruited to UCSF. |
