| Assuming you packed for yourself. Please include house size! |
| Oops, I have no idea how the word “have” appeared in the title… |
| Following. We close in close to three weeks and have packed two boxes. Leaving a 3 level 3 bed TH but feel super unprepared. |
| About 6 hours longer than you think. |
OP here. We are moving in 16 days and haven't started, if it makes you feel any better! Same size TH. |

2 adults, two tweens
2500 sq ft One four day weekend (not counting lead time to acquire packing supplies) We have a relatively small amt of stuff I am aces at organizing and packing |
| Weeks. With two days of professional help and left some stuff for after the move since we were renovating the old house before sale. |
You should start now because the more you can purge, the better. If you have to rush you’ll just pack everything and miss the opportunity. |
| The last 10% of the packing requires 90% of your time. |
| Weeks of preparing plus professionals. Hire people, this is worth it. |
| I did it in a week or so. Here’s the secret. Get all your supplies and do one entire room at a time, one room per day. Do it ALL. Don’t leave a few things here and there as they will add up. I had two small kids at the time and worked a few hours after they were in bed for the night. Very do-able. Allow two days for the kitchen though. |
This! I packed up 90% of my stuff in a weekend and was doing a little victory dance. Then pulled an all-nighter the day before the movers came and spent DAYS after they left clearing out the last of it. Hire a hunk hauler for the day before the movers arrive. That would have helped. |
Okay, obviously that was supposed to be junk hauler… |
😩 congratulations! Happy packing! |
| A month, but only after the kids went to bed |
