As a family with an unvaccinated PK student, we feel like we're being held hostage in DC since our public charter school still requires quarantine before returning to school for unvaccinated students. This is just a recommendation from DC Health and not a requirement, but our PCS is following all DC Health guidance. Am wondering what other schools are still requiring this?
I don’t follow my school rules…
My DCPS school is not doing this and neither is my child’s daycare. Your school is being ridiculous at this point and I would ignore the rule.
Ignore the rules. Seriously
That's crazy, what school is this?
Wow. So much selfishness but it’s DCUM
If they still have the rule they are not enforcing or making reference to it. That is crazy since DC was more dangerous than traveling to a lot of other places during OMicron. I kind of thought the testing after breaks was done in place of trying to enforce quarantine after travel.
Our school does and it's absurd. We haven't left DMV since summer but would have no problem ignoring it at this point.
It’s especially laughable since vaccinated students can get and spread COVID just as well.
Yes. Those who say ignore it - don’t your kids just open their mouth unfiltered? My kids teacher would know we traveled in the first five minutes of return. It’s a small school and I do care.
My kids probably wouldn't because they are more reserved but if they did, I'd happily tell the school we went somewhere in MD or VA. I get your position but there is no sense to this policy and I have to draw a line somewhere. |
Yu Ying is being ridiculous about this. If your pre-K kid mentions that they went to grandmas house or whatever outside the DMV, they'll pull the kid out of class and send them home for the remainder of the 7 day quarantine.
Our charter school does not do this.
Sela still has this quarantine.
Breakthrough doesn't enforce the recommendation.
