| What a beautiful final farewell. She was quite a woman. Awesome. She was apart of so much in ths country and she did not mind other people taking the credit or getting the headlines. She was a tenacious woman who did so much quitely and with so much class. All women should be inspired. |
| whose final farewell are we talking about? |
| and she caused me to sit on Roosevelt Bridge for 30 minutes at a standstill so roads could be blocked off for important ppl in motorcades attending her service. |
| Dorothy Height, yes? |
Lol, the joy of living in DC! |
| Dorothy Height of course. |
How inconsiderate of her. Maybe she should not have died. Or maybe she should not have lived such an exceptional life that so many people wished to pay their respects. If we could only all be ordinary people, caring only about ourselves and our little lives, the Roosevelt bridge would be a happy bridge to drive. |
F U!! The bridge was held up for ppl looking to have a photo opp at the funeral...not for those that really wanted to pay their respects. You are so better than everyone, aren't you? Give me a break, lady. |
| Who is Dorothy Height?! |
Good grief turn on a TV or read a newspaper or surf over to a site that isn't DCUM. |
Most people who take the Roosevelt Bridge in the morning don't live in DC. |
Really? then how do some of them get into VA in the morning? |
so the poster should have said DC Metro area, WTF? The point of your post is 'what' exactly? Let me guess..."I am superior because I live inside DC inside of 1 mile outside of DC". As a DC resident of 20 years I don't get the smugness. I WAH full-time so I don't normally have a commute (except to walk upstairs to my office). We chose to leave our NW home so I wouldn't have to pay $30K/year for 3 kids' schooling for the next 18 years. I was on the way to drop my son off at his preschool since I did not want to switch preschools mid-year--esp since this is his last year. For the record, when I lived in NW and commuted to VA I often sat in motorcadse like this inside the District...alot more times than I did 500feet from the DC border. Congratulations- 'you win title of "douchebag of the day' today! |
| i still don't know who dorothy height was... |

Good God people. I am downright embarrassed by this thread. Do any of you even bother to think before you post? Not one single response has shown any regard to the message of the original post. Do you think that Dorothy Height's life is best represented by people telling each other to fuck themselves? Is an argument over a wait on a bridge really the best tribute to her? Are all of you so wrapped up in your own lives that you can't take even a minute to think about somebody else?
