| We are in Potomac/Rockville area and are considering BTA. Just heard about JTCC. Is anyone living in this are and doing JTCC? For a 10 year old. TIA |
| What attracts you to JTCC? There are plenty of good clubs around here if your 10 year old is serious. Also look into OSSA and the Tennisplex in Germantown. They also have programs for the more serious player. |
So, trying to familiarize myself with the programs besides 4 star. Tennisplex is a bit of a haul but can do. They seem to have different stuff-linxacademy/JTCC. Not sure which one to go for. |
| OSSA is a big no. Totally toxic environment and people are leaving in droves |
Tennisplex would be less of a haul from Potomac/Rockville than JTCC. Why don’t you try both? Maybe even Quince Orchard too. You should be able to schedule a trial v CB lass at each. |
Can you tell us more about that? |
The coach is a pervert |
What is he doing to make himself a pervert? |
| Jtcc is the best around, and i say that as someone whose kids did not advance there but repeated the first level over and over. They teach well but it has kind of the joy level of a Russian gymnastics factory. Impressive kids, but not fun. |
This is a slanderous statement. We use OSSA and like our coach very much. That said there are many coaches. |
| OP again: still trying to get input on BTA vs JTCC. Anyone played with BTA? |
|
BTA was a joke when my child did classes. It was worse than school after care and my child barely got a chance to hit the ball much less learned tennis. Did 3 sessions.
It might be better for non-beginners. |
| Anyone have experience with the Jack Shore academy at the Tennis plex in Germantown? |
My DC did a “test” class at Jack Schore. She said it was the best of all the “test classes” she did. If we could have made the schedule work, we would have gone with them. |
| Can anyone else provide insight on JTCC Champs II program for a 13 year old who is pretty serious about tennis? |
