Anybody here choosing between both of them?

Most likely very few people are deciding between these two schools as they are extremely different and one is single sex.

I thought that they were very commonly overlapped in terms of applicants

How about, see which one(s) your daughter gets into and then see if you even have a choice.

I really do not think so. My Holyoke is in a depressed semi rural area of massachusetts, is single sex with a 50% acceptance rate. Tufts is coed, nationally known and has a 16% acceptance rate.

My Holyoke act middle 50 is 27-30 and tufts is 32-35. Tufts is significant more competitive than mhc.

Wellesley and tufts are more similar in terms of applicant pool.

Uh, the Pioneer Valley is not "depressed." And it's nationally known.

Eh, South Hadley is more so than Amherst or North Adams.

MHC seemed like a supportive community . It is less urban than Tufts (which my child appreciated/she felt the small scale of MHC felt more relaxing). Don’t be driven by ranking. Which place feels like home to your child? She must live there for 4?years (and MHC offers the variety of colleges she will have access to in the Consortium).

South Hadley is a rural but it certainly isn't depressed. Have you ever visited western Massachusetts?

Spent a good chunk of COVID there. Prior to that probably 2-3x/year. Now 4-5x/year.
