Crown Princess of Sweden and her husband Daniel issue official 'we're not divorcing' statement

If it was one couple in trouble, I had no idea it was them. But the information coming out in Swedish papers is shocking.

Here's their statement.

For the record, the Swedish rumors are that there is serious discord, bordering on abuse, in their relationship:

- Daniel directed a bodyguard away and berated/hissed at her in front of servants
- Victoria is attending official functions separately
- Emotional abuse but no one seems to be clarifying what
- They've been verging on separation since 2019 but things came to a head Christmas 2021 when there was an 'incident' with Daniel
- Many at court and in the legal circuit were already expecting a divorce announcement
- Daniel also bought a condo in his name...make of that what you will

So much hatred for Mary and Fred and they would constantly use Victoria and Daniel as the standard and now look. Victoria grew up very insecure about her looks and weight and suffered from bulimia. Daniel was a personal trainer when they fell in love. It isn't far off or crazy that he knows what her emotional weaknesses are and can exploit them.

They have a whole subforum of threads where they post every single picture of her and analyze every pixel so they can ascribe some kind of nefarious, grasping motive to her. They've got whole narratives constructed based on absolutely nothing. It's alternatively disgusting and hilarious. There was also a lot of hatred for Kate, though that has dimmed in recent years. Letizia of Spain was also routinely torn to bits but then all the scandals about Juan Carlos and Cristina started coming out and that narrative kind of collapsed.

I want to say I'm surprised about Victoria and Daniel and I kind of am, but the two situations I know in my own life of people who have married their personal trainers both ended in cheating and heartbreak. I just assume most marriages built on superficial stuff like that won't last.

Thanks for the breakdown. I'm really surprised about that re Letizia. Like I knew some people didn't like her because she's the first Queen of true middle-class had a successful job background. But she ROCKS as a Queen. Doing so many appearances, always fashionable, constant advocacy and speeches, and never really put a foot wrong.
