I bought an Apple Watch and it is changing my life

I'm competing to close my rings and actually getting off my buns for the first time this pandemic. Anyone else have success with it?

I’ve had one for a year and am still obsessed with closing my rings. I’m much more fit than I was at the start of 2021, and I credit the watch with a lot of the improvement.

Me too. I haven’t lost weight (could lose 10 pounds) but my blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and resting heart rate were all better than they were a year ago.

Wow, that’s a good ad. I’m basically sedentary. I need some motivation.

You can try a FitBit for about a 1/4 of the price. Not quite as fancy but it works.

I have both and I actually like the fitness features of the Fitbit better.

Fitbit has its advantages. I have the smart watch which was $230. I don't have to charge it every day. That was a deal breaker for Apple Watch. I can wear mine for 5 days about before it needs a charge. I can track my run better. Fitbit gives me a sleep score which is fun. It's good at tracking my calories. It reminds me to move 250 steps every hour. I have competitions with friends which are so fun.

I currently have an Apple Watch, but previously had Fitbit and I agree the Fitbit has better fitness features. For the Apple watch, if you do any sport besides walking or running, you have to manually start the workout on the watch for it to track your workout. I play cardio tennis multiple times a week and it registers as 2 minutes of exercise unless I remember to start the app. So, it's near impossible to close my rings unless I walk the dog, which the Apple watch thinks is some sort of a marathon and closes my exercise ring. The Sleep feature on the fitbit is also great, I really miss that. I purchased a Sleep app to go with my Apple watch, but once again, I have to remember to turn it on before I go to sleep or it doesn't measure my sleep. And as a previous poster said, you have to charge your Apple watch daily, where the fitbit is once every 4 or 5 days.

Which Fitbit watch do folks recommend?

Do you want a larger face? I had the Inspire but when I exercise it only shows one stat so I bought the larger face. I run so I got the GPS one, it was the Versa 3 or Sense. The Sense had some stupid features so I got the Versa 3 and changed the band to something pretty.
