the proposed project is affordable housing in name only. It is not affordable for the people who live there or the surrounding areas. That's his beef. The overwhelming majority of residents, including him, oppose the project. Get your story straight.

I was wondering where this thread was last night when I read the article...and would ah e posted myself but DC distracted me this I forgot until just now.

Is it just that it is a crappy project? Or he doesn't want poors near his town? What the average HHI in YS, Ohio. Curious Chappelle's real reasons for being so adament here.

In an article I read a protestor of the project said they were protesting having affordable units in the condo project. What they wanted was basically 2 separate projects, one project with just market rate condos and a separate project with only affordable housing units.

From the article, I got the sense he went there for small town vibe and was upset this was going yo give the place a denser, more suburban sprawl type feel. It seems pretty NIMabY yo me. I don’t know how he got appointed Saint Dave….he does seem pretty self-centered to me, generally. The quotes from the hearing make him sound like a bully.

My personal opinion is that media should leave mentally ill people alone, like Kanye’s breakdowns or Brittany.
