Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
I'm talking about two specific posters who literally paste the same exact sentences here and in Facebook / Nextdoor posts. The timestamps match up. I'm not doxxing anyone, but it's obvious who they are if you are paying attention. |
| Yes, those great falls next door posters are obnoxious and think they know it all. One great thing about the boundary changes being complete is we don’t have to see their self-righteous posts anymore. |
DP. Not in Great Falls. What makes you think the boundary changes are complete? The next round of county-wide proposals get released on October 10th, and they've already said any boundary changes related to KAA, if it reopens as a neighborhood school, will be proposed later. Sounds like either it will be delayed past fall 2026 or, if they cobble something together by then, it may be lacking compared to Chantilly, Oakton, etc. |

If KAA becomes a neighborhood school, how does it affect HS boundaries?
If it becomes a magnet, will it affect any boundaries? |
“Grumble, grumble, great falls, Langley! Grumble, grumble “ |
They’re going to do this every five years. It’ll never be complete. Any kids starting in a fcps school as kindergarteners will experience two or three of these boundary reviews if they stay in the system. Imagine how sick people are going to get of this shit. Imagine how many families will stay far away from the shitshow. |
Imagine how minimal the changes will be once this long overdue adjustment is made. |
That’s a pretty idiotic statement, because the changes are always going to depend on the whims of whoever sits on the School Board at the time of the five-year review. Thru is telling people now they are prepared to scale back the changes proposed earlier this year in response to BRAC/community feedback, but that the School Board could decide to go in a different direction. The one thing we do know is that western Fairfax may see multiple rounds of boundary changes in short order because they’ve been clear any boundary changes relating to KAA will come later, after the county-wide boundary changes have been proposed. |
+1. Well said. “Minimal changes after large changes” is a dumb talking point for the boundary change proponents. It will be continued uncertainty for all residents every five years. The only people who would be okay with that are the ones who don’t care about their kids educations. |
| Will there be any impact to Forestville or Langley boundaries due to the KAA school? |
Forestville should go to Herndon, anyone looking the facts, and not relying on emotions, can see that. But that probably means nothing will actually happen to them. |
As someone who once shared your optimism, the changes recommended thus far simply peel off the bandaid and slaps it down some place else. The fact that they've slapped on a new high school and an initiative to place AAP centers at every middle school, yet still plan to push through changes that don’t resolve split feeders, and in many cases create new imbalanced ones is proof that the process is creating more instability than it is fixing problems. |
How does this make sense in any way? |
Just pointing out that this is one poster with a clear agenda who has been saying this for years on these boards. You can ignore her. No one knows how KAA will be used, but Forestville is far enough away from KAA that it is not likely to be moved as a direct result of the KAA purchase. |
I definitely have an agenda: an efficiently distributed set of boundaries that save money and keeps bussing to a minimum. |
