Any idea when the winter MAP tests will be? My son’s scores this fall were much lower than previous trends and when I raised concerns, I got the old “wait until winter so we can see if this is an aberration or new trend,” so I curious when the next round of MAP testing will be.
Thanks! |
| The testing window is supposed to be January 3-28, but I haven't heard anything about it from our school yet. |
| Depending on your son’s grade, be aware he might not take it this winter. Our school is only assessing grades k-3. |
| 5th grader at Bells Mill took MAP-M this past Friday. |
The testing window has been extended into February. I *think* it’s Feb. 25th. So many students are out with Covid or in quarantine learning, so testing windows have been extended. Each school chooses their own testing dates. |
| Our ES started them this past week. And OP, DC had a similar flatline to MAPs in the spring and this fall and jumped all the way back up this week. |
| Some schools aren't giving the winter MAPs. I wish they all were required to give them to better access extended loss of learning or the bounce back from last year that MCPS says is happening. |

Official memo:
Winter MAP window has been extended to February 25th and the students who are required to take MAP has been adjusted to: o K-Grade 1 – Literacy Only o Grades 2 & 3 – Literacy and Math o All other grades are optional |
Is that memo for elementary schools or all schools? |
| Is there an explanation of the tests they conduct and when that's accessible somewhere? We've got a kindergartener so this is our first time with it and it seems odd. We only got math scores in the fall and now someone's saying they're only doing literacy? Do we have to wait until the end of the year to have scores to compare? |
| We did Map- P a week ago and MAP RF is on the 20th. |
| Dc's scores dipped in fall and more than bounced back last week. I bet it was the more common trajectory to fall or plateau last fall. |
| Ask - my 4th grader already took both tests |
Those are the required testings for all MCPS elementary schools. At my school, we're giving the MAP literacy and math tests in all grades. We like having the diagnostic data for each student. Our schedule is constantly changing because of the snow days. Thankfully MCPS extended the window until Feb. 25th because we have so many kids out. |
| We just had our 6th grade winter MAPs canceled. |
