10 yr old Toyota Sienna. Run it till it dies. Which is why we have $$. We don't waste our $$ on new cars every few years.

Upper middle class? Lexus for the flashy ones, Honda or Toyota for the practical ones. Maybe a Subaru with all the options for the engineers.

Maybe we should define UMC.

The UMC people I know drove BMWs until they had kids and now they drive Subarus, Volkswagens or Volvos if they want to be fancy. We know one family with a Tesla but they are an extreme outlier (and might not be UMC, though they would describe themselves that way, of course).

The main thing is that they buy new cars and upgrade them more frequently than a middle class person would.
