Staples of UC childhood?

I’m a totally different poster. But curious to see what these could be for a UC childhood.

I’m adding what I think these can be.

1. Early years raised by nanny and mom
2. High end clothing, Gucci Balmain for special occasions
3. No tech
4. Knows 2-3 languages
5,. Etiquette classes
6. Lots of extracurriculars
7. Travel at least 4 times a year

I’m not UC, but my wealthy cousin had a pony brought in for her three-year-old’s birthday party. There are many more significant markers of her kids’ privilege but that is what always comes to mind for me.

Anyone else find these threads weird? I feel like people may use them as some sort of checklist/cheat sheet. More than just idle curiosity. OP, were you UMC/UC? I just don't get the fixation.

There are no hallmarks. UC people are generally pretty nuts, troubled and messy. So, that I guess.

We had a chauffeur. Dressed in a black suit. Drove a black Lincoln Town Car. If it's raining, he'd be right there at the door waiting with an open umbrella.

The Peltz family (billionaires) do have their kids in Balmain. That’s actually where I got that reference from. I see a lot of new UC also do this.

I don’t see how it’s weird. I would never talk about this in real life.

I grew up lower middle and now we are upper middle but my father was UC. I’m genuinely curious.

My spouse said his nanny used to bring him breakfast to eat in bed throughout his elementary years. Also each of his siblings had their own nannies on top of 2-3 live-in maids.

I'll bite on UC. Some of this depends on where you live and exactly how rich you are. Multiple servants (full-time housekeeper, and nanny, and gardener/handyman for example). Private school for kids. Vacations are at private/exclusive places and you stay at your vacation home (or grandparents vacation home or friends' vacation homes.) You visit the right places (Aspen, the Hamptons, New York or Euro capitals for shopping). Not all UC people are into tons of designer clothes, but, designer bags, shoes, watches/jewelry very common. Time and money spent on "maintenance" (plastic surgery, skin treatments, hair color, nails).

I always considered UC generational wealth.

We have a seven figure income and an eight figure net worth. Some people may say we are rich but we are definitely not UC. We are solidly UMC. We travel 10x per year, ivy educated, country club, ski, golf, play tennis, etc. My kid has had a pony at her party and that really isn’t expensive or hard to do at all.

I know several people who always try to act rich. I know them fairly well so I know they are not from money. Everything they say or do screams I am rich or wannabe rich.
