| Any suggestions? MoCo based so MD or DC are our usual eating out destinations, but we'll travel. Kid has had a rough time during the pandemic and anything he'd want to do for his birthday is indoors and off-limits thanks to Omicron. If you've gone out for lunch or dinner somewhere memorable, I'd be grateful for any suggestions! |

This isn’t what you asked - but I let my 12 year old have 3 vaccinated friends sleep over for his bday this year.
I’m about to throw my 10 y/o a party. We are going to arrive at Dave & Busters in masks at opening and play for about an hour and a half then go back to our house for lunch. All guests are newly vaccinated. |
| Me again. You could consider top golf. |
|
Top Golf - that's a great idea!
And I was thinking sleepover too until Omicron. Now I'm going to wait till this wave passes. |
| Definitely top golf. My son loved it!! Expensive though. Like 350/bay. |

My younger two (13 and 11) have been to several parties at Top Golf in the last year and loved them. Neither of them golf at all, but they had a blast and would go back in a heartbeat.
If you still want a restaurant, try Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda. They have a nice, heated outdoor space and the food is good. My kids love it and only get to go occasionally. |
| I saw a birthday group having fun today.12 kids eating outside at Farmers, Fishers, Bakers at Georgetown Harbor + they follpwed up with ice skating right there. It was a cold day, but they have heaters. My dh + I were talking about what a great bday idea that was during Covid. |
| Top Golf is awesome. |

Poor kid! Isn't he vaccinated? You said he had a rough time during the pandemic and you are still not even considering allowing him to have the birthday he wants?
I hope you will still be okay with your choices when your kid is old enough to come to the realization that you ruined his early teenage years due to your own anxieties. |
Boring AF. Paintball outside would be more fun or horseback riding. |
You are an f’ing miracle worker you found a heated outdoor paintball facility. |
She’s a responsible parent during a COVID surge. You don’t get it. We know. |
| OP—I’m struggling with this too. My daughter turns 13 this coming weekend and we can’t think of anything. She wants a sleepover and I just don’t see it. |
| My 13yo daughter had a top golf party and loved it. Her friends had a blast and none of them are golfers. |
That's too bad for you daughter. My child just had a sleepover with a few friends, not because of birthday but just for fun. I hope she understands. |
